World Peace in the Kingdom of God

The prophet Isaiah predicted the birth of the Messiah and his ruling the earth in the Kingdom of God on the throne of David. This prophecy is recorded in Isaiah 9:6-7:

"6For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. 7Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this." (KJV)

Nations will not learn war any longer.  The Kingdom of God will abolish military academies.  The prophet Isaiah told of the future world ruling Kingdom of God and how it will bring peace to the world in Isaiah 2:2-4:

And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD's house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.

3And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
4And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more." (KJV)

In this passage from Isaiah, the word mountain is symbolic of a government.  The Kingdom of God will be above all governments.  People will want to learn of the ways of God that bring peace.  However, instant happiness will not occur everywhere.  Christ will rebuke many people for their selfish ways that do not bring peace.  He will not allow them go to war any more.  The nations will learn God's law and why they should obey God's commandments.

The prophet Micah wrote similar words in Micah 4:1-3:

1But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of the LORD shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it.
2And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
3And he shall judge among many people, and rebuke strong nations afar off; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up a sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more." (KJV)

Yes, Christ was born as a babe in Bethlehem. The angel Gabriel told Mary that Christ would inherit the throne of King David in Luke 1:32-33:

"32He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:
33And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end."

Christ is going to come again to rule this world in the Kingdom of God. Christ is indeed the Prince of Peace. His Kingdom will be an everlasting kingdom.  There will be no end to his government that will bring peace to the world.  And that is good news.
